The BIG BULB PLANT springs up at Westfield
On Saturday 1 October 2011 The Big Bulb Plant and Eden Project sprung up on the ground floor of Westfield for a day of bulb-related fun to launch the nationwide Big Bulb Plant. Toby Buckland, TV gardening personality, Chris Collins, Blue Peter Gardener, and the team at Eden Project led workshops throughout the day and over 500 free boxes of spring flowering Narcissus ‘Thalia’ were handed out.
This event marked the start of the October/November spring-bulb planting season and the launch of The Big Bulb Plant, a nationwide initiative that sees communities up and down the country get together and plant spring flowering bulbs to brighten up their surroundings come springtime.
The day was a huge success. All that’s left to do now is get planting!
