Galanthus elwesii
Popular name: Snowdrop
Flower colour: white
Flowering period: February-March
Average plant height: 25 cm
Planting depth to base of bulb: 10 cm
Spacing between bulbs: 5 cm
Type of bulb: bulb
Light requirements: full to partial shade
Landscape uses: borders, rock gardens, under trees and shrubs, and in lawns
This species has larger flowers and much coarser leaves than those of G.

Galanthus elwesii is also much taller and its flowering period can begin just a
little bit earlier. Another striking characteristic is that green spots present
on the inner petals are much larger.
