Flowering bulbs in the winter

Every autumn, people all over the world plant countless flower bulbs. Not just in the garden but also on their balconies; because even if you don’t have a garden, you can use flower containers. But it’s also a time when a lot of flower bulbs are planted inside: in pots, shallow containers or glasses. It allows us to bring a little spring sunshine into our homes in the winter. Some of these bulbs even bloom as early as December.

Do you know which kinds of bulbs you would need for this? Hyacinths and daffodils, for example. Hyacinths can produce pink, white or blue flowers. Daffodils are usually yellow, white and orange. You can buy these bulbs in shops as early as around the middle of September. They are sold as individual bulbs or packaged in pretty boxes.
